these eyes belong to Romeo

Hi, my name is Romeo!

Hi! My name is Romeo. I have been told that not only am I a huge sweetie, but I’m quite the charmer. I guess that’s where I get my name. Once I meet you, I have a hard time hiding my affection for you. I have this move I call the “bury my head in the person’s arms” maneuver. That one gets me tons of pets and cuddles. But don’t think I’m only focused on cuddling and affection. I love playtime too. Tennis balls are my weakness. I can’t help it, I find them irresistible. Now that I am a bit older (I’m about 6 ½ years old) I do have a touch of arthritis in my hips, but don’t worry about that. I don’t let it hold me back. I will need a person that is willing to give me some medicine if my hips start to bother me. But that’s no big deal. You won’t find a dog that walks better on a leash. And I play and chase balls like a pup. I’m also very housebroken. I am not all that interested in making friends with other dogs. If they ignore me, I will ignore them. That’s pretty much how I feel about it. Just don’t try to take me to a crazy dog park or anything like that. I have not had a formal obedience class, but the volunteers here are always working with me to teach me things (they all love me). I’m quite good at “sit” and “down” and I’m working hard at “stay”. I would love to have a person that will continue with my training. I would be fine in a home with children, but I’m not a big fan of kitties. I love all the people here at ARFhouse. But, I’ve been here for awhile and we all think it’s time for me to have my own person or family. Everyone tells me I really deserve it. I can’t wait to meet you soon!
